ABC Youth is making strides towards the vision of our future and embarking on the next chapter! In the past nine years, we have seen exponential growth in our program. We are outgrowing our rented space at a local church building and will soon be moving to our own new space. What was once a dream is now becoming a reality. With the help of investors, we have purchased a 15,000 sq ft property on Flint’s East Side, near Potter Elementary. Our next step is to get the building and facilities build and excited to meet more sponsors to join on this venture to getting the building complete. This property will be transformed into the official ABC Youth Training Center, where we will focus on equipping and educating youth and their families while serving as a central hub for community engagement.
Future Programs and Equipment at the Youth Training Center
We help companies develop powerful corporate social responsibility, grantmaking, and employee engagement strategies.
The Youth Training Center will provide the following:
- Curriculum based prep skilled-trades
- Pre and Post Assessment of skills learned
- Skills-trade certificate
- After school training work station
- Classroom Literacy and Math
- Life Skills / Character Development (honesty, compassion, respect, and forgiveness)
The Youth Training Center will come equipped with:
- Full-Size Commercial Kitchen
- Labs for Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical
- Classroom Space
- Recreation Center (Basketball Court, Indoor Track, etc.)
- Playscape
- Community Garden
